About 40 people joined the Tredegar Society for the 90 minute conversational walking tour to Belle Isle on Saturday, June 6. The Sensory History Tour of Belle Isle Prison Camp began at our Historic Tredegar location, 500 Tredegar Street, and was led by Evan Kutlzer, Ph.D. Kutzler explored the question: Can lessons from sensory history helps us better understand this complex, historic site? Lyle Browning of RVA Archeology offered additional insight. All photos are by Penelope M. Carrington.
The next Tredegar Society event on July 29th will focus on baseball during and after the Civil War. For more information about the Tredegar Society or upcoming events, click here.
