Discover more about the Civil War, including what life was like for a Civil War soldier, how the branches of the military were different, how to plan battle strategies, and what medical practices were like during the War.

This two-day day camp is designed for kids 8-10 and 11-13 years old and is held in Appomattox, VA. On the first day, participants will visit the American Civil War Museum in Appomattox where they enlist in either the Union or Confederate Army. They will spend the next day in the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park as soldiers learning about Civil War arms and tactics with costumed interpreters.

These camps are held on two successive days June 18 – 19 for participants ages 8-10; and June 20-21 for participants ages 11-13 and are not an overnight event.

Cost: 

$20 per child. Includes admission to the museum, a camp T-shirt and kepi.
