The Civil War didn’t just affect life for soldiers—it impacted everyone in the United States. Explore and uncover how children and families (both free and enslaved) dealt with wartime shortages, stresses, and everyday events. With special family tours of the White House of the Confederacy, storytimes featuring a diverse cast of real historical characters, and hands-on activities including toys and games, families of all ages and sizes can explore history together. Youth through age 17 are free all day with adult admission. Hands-on activities will be going on from 10:00-4:00, storytimes will be 10:30 and 3:30, and special House tours will be at 11:30, 1:00, and 2:30.
