Americans have long preserved historic places because of their relationship to a significant element of American history. However, while those stories frequently involved enslaved people, the experiences of enslaved individuals have not always been present at historic places. Discover how The Slave Dwelling Project is trying to encourage a more complete historical narrative and foster dialogue out of its legacies.
