The Naming Commission, mandated by Congress as part of the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act, was established to rename military assets bearing names associated with the Confederacy. Join us for a conversation with the commission’s Lead Historian, Connor Williams (Yale University), as we explore how the commission’s work and decisions reflect the evolution of Civil War memory.
Moderated by Dr. Rob Havers, President, and CEO of the American Civil War Museum.
