New Exhibition Opening on April 27th!
Titled ‘The Impending Crisis’, this exhibit will delve into the events, individuals, and topics that led to the division of the United States on the verge of civil war. This exhibition will be located on the second floor at ACWM-Tredgar.
2024 Spring Lecture Series
Join us for our Spring Lecture Series as we delve into the causes of the Civil War, as part of our extensive initiative “The Civil War & Remaking America”. ACWM Members receive free admission to these events!
Civil War & Emancipation Day is a commemorative day marking the history & impact of the Civil War and the end of slavery in Richmond.
Join us on April 6th for a day of family-friendly storytelling, music, crafts, and a visit from Abe Lincoln as we use the arts to explore the Civil War, slavery, and emancipation.
The Tredegar Society is hosting the 10th Anniversary of their annual fundraising event, ‘Loose Cannons’! All proceeds will benefit the Museum.
Join us the evening of April 6th and enjoy food trucks, libations and music by Richmond’s premier soul band Soul Providers. Your support of this event enables the Tredegar Society to grow its membership and continue its valued service.
‘Greenback America’ is headed to ACWM-Appomattox this Spring!
Our temporary exhibition, ‘Greenback America’, is moving to ACWM-Appomattox! This exhibit tells the story of how the United States’ decision on how to pay off the Civil War transformed the relationship between the government, the economy, banks, and citizens.
