Teacher Advisory Council
Are you an educator who teaches about the American Civil War?
Are you interested in helping to guide the development of offerings for students and your fellow teachers?
Would you like to be part of the exciting evolution of the American Civil War Museum?
The American Civil War Museum is accepting applicants for its Teacher Advisory Council for the 2019-20 academic year.
We are particularly looking for educators who:
- Teach at any grade level, but especially those who cover content related to the American Civil War.
- Are enthusiastic about helping our organization to create excellent, relevant, and useful offerings for teachers and their students, for use on-site at the museums and in the classroom.
- Can help shape our vision for how we want to best serve educators and their students.
- Are flexible, creative, innovative, and reflective.
Accepted members of the Teacher Advisory Council will meet quarterly (options for virtual or in-person attendance) during this 1-year term (2019-20 academic year), beginning on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Benefits of participation for members of the Council will include a free membership to the museum, the possibility for recertification points, meals provided at meetings (for those who attend in person), and the opportunity to help shape the future of how our museum serves educators and their students.
Applications are due to Stephanie Arduini by the end of the day on Friday, September 27.
