The Board of Directors and staff of the American Civil War Museum wish to express their condolences to the family of Mr. Thomas A. Saunders, III.
He was an outstanding member of the board of the American Civil War Museum, and helped guide the Museum through challenging times with sage advice and considerable support. A graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and proud of his Southhampton County, Virginia roots, Tom generously donated his resources and talent to preserving the rich history of Virginia.
His love and support of all American history was meaningful.
The “Jordan and Thomas A. Saunders, III Lobby” at the Museum is a fitting tribute to his dedication to the American Civil War Museum and his gracious demeanor and friendly spirit will be missed.
