Student Group Tours & Programs

Have museum educators lead your students through programs that challenge them to broaden their understanding of the causes, course, and consequences of the American Civil War. Our student programming aligns with the Virginia Standards of Learning and Common Core.

For every 10 students 1 teacher/chaperone is admitted free of charge. Additional adults are charged the rates charted above. The above fee includes 1 guided program. Additional programs are $3 per student, but adults are not charged extra.

For students, the rate for both Tredegar and Appomattox is $10, and the three-site fee is $16. The two-site museum fee for adults is $24, and the three-site fee is $33. If you are a tour operator, please inquire about rates.

ACWM Educators provide an onsite visit to your classroom with resources. Using historical and critical thinking skills, students investigate people’s lives, the impact of war, and how echoes from the past surround us.

At The Museum

During field trips at ACWM, students become historians, exploring primary source documents and artifacts to delve deeply into the human stories of the Civil War.

Virtual Programs

Our museum educators will virtually administer a program via Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or a School Dictated Platform.
