Part 1
During the American Civil War, how were the key players of the Confederate States setting the stage to be recognized on a global scale? Where did the Confederates see themselves in the global economic supply chain and who was trying to advance the Confederate worldview during the war? Join Joseph and our Curator of Exhibitions, Chris Graham, and they discuss these topics in Part 1 of this program.
Part 2
As the Civil War raged on, Confederate politicians shifted their focus on the world stage. In switching from a narrative about the potential global “positives” of slavery to the perceived negatives of “radical revolutionaries” they also began laying the foundations for what would become the Lost Cause.
