When Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army Of Northern Virginia to U.S. Grant at Appomattox, there were no photographers on hand to record the event. Alfred Waud’s sketches are the only known visual record made at the scene. Our 100% cotton tee shirt features Waud’s drawing of Lee riding away from the McLean house after the surrender.
